First graders focused on their mini production while other grades are starting to explore textures and patterns. The fifth graders have made some wonderful backgrounds for their self portraits, so it's not time to move to that "main event."
Several new projects getting started! Our Pre-K and Kinders will continue to fly through shorter projects (to better match their attention spans) as older students complete projects that required more concentration, effort, and problem solving. New projects are taking off. Our 4th graders are moving into their Opera Krewes and mine will be designing, building, and painting the sets. All grades are continuing the projects from last week.
Lots of different media happening right now: watercolor paint, clay, colored pencils, permanent and watercolor markers, and glue covered yarn. It's been a little slow going for a few of the "Name" projects, but second and fifth graders are close to finishing. Third graders are mixing colors to fit an Analogous Color Scheme of their choice. Forth graders have moved from cubes to letters in one-point perspective and have graduated to poster size paper for their final creation. Continued progress on the Name projects, while Pre-K and Kindergartners are working on lines and colors. Many of the name projects are close to an end. Kindergartners will wrapping their yarn lines in contact paper and sticking their names to the front. First graders will be doing a watercolor resist over the top of their crayon-colored names, many third graders will start painting the spaces in between their letters with analogous colors, while the fifth graders are adding textures and patterns to their clay names. While each grade is making progress on their artworks, we are all still working on the same projects described last week. |
